MEET KEVIN CHAVOUS
Kevin Chavous is a lifelong Washingtonian, attorney, and public servant who has spent his career working on the issues that affect DC residents every day, from housing stability to responsive city services. Raised in DC and now raising his family in Ward 7, Kevin understands how city policy shows up in people’s real lives.
Most recently, Kevin served as Committee and Policy Director alongside Councilmember Anita Bonds to help advance legislation impacting residents across all eight wards. With years of experience inside city government, Kevin is running for DC Council At-Large to provide steady, practical leadership focused on results for the entire city.

His priorities center on housing stability, education, safe neighborhoods, and a city government that is responsive, accountable, and effective. With experience inside the DC Council, Kevin understands how to move policy from idea to implementation.

Their working relationship is grounded in years of shared service to the District and the Democratic Party. Beginning in 2015, Councilmember Bonds worked closely with Kevin during his leadership of the DC Young Democrats and later alongside him on the DC Democratic State Committee. Most recently, Kevin served as her Committee and Policy Director for the Committee on Executive Administration and Labor, partnering closely with Councilmember Bonds to advance key legislative and oversight priorities and deliver results for District residents.
